March Forums update
by Kimberlie Kehrer - Wednesday, 14 March 2012, 01:28 PM

We have had a great month. Luke Evans, our Spelling Bee champion, will go onto the Deseret Spelling Bee. We are so proud of your willingness to learn all those new words and spell them correctly. And Tristan Davis for his excellent representation at the Science Fair. We are so proud of those who have taken the time to participate in these wonderful opportunities to dig deep into the subject matter and share the information with us. Thank you to the wonderful ladies who have made those big events happen. I hope you feel appreciated for all you have done.

Change is in the air. It has been a great opportunity to serve as the President of WHEN. Eleanor Roosevelt said, "Many people walk in and out of your life, but true friends leave footprints on your heart." I have made so many friends. I thank you for crossing my path.

FORUMS has allowed us to connect up with other homeschoolers and have the ability to communicate with others of a like mind. Forums has grown to over 820 families. We have literally had hundreds of activities.

My goals as President of WHEN were:

To connect people up so they could know they were not alone.
Preserve our privacy and safe guard our information especially that of our children.
Provide activities which children could have access through large groups like the school districts had available to them.
Provide so many activities and great learning experiences my kids would never had by being stuck in a classroom.

We have had a wonderful homeschooling experience. It has had its ups and downs but to be honest it has been great to see and do so many hands on learning experiences, it has been a great 17 years.

Recently it has been difficult for me to keep up with the demand. It is the time in my life to move on to new adventures. My daughter is now getting married and I am going to enjoy every minute of it.

This has been a great four years- So many opportunities have come about because of many wonderful people. I am grateful to those who believed in our youth and parents influence in educating their children.

We are having an official meeting for WHEN forums March 10th at my home to celebrate the accomplishments of WHEN and choose a new president and figure out where those who care would like forums to go.

Too Many Emails?
by WHEN Webmaster - Friday, 10 September 2010, 09:28 AM

If you are getting too many forum email messages, you have a couple of options.

The first option, if you want to be able to access the messages but don't want them in your inbox, is to unsubscribe from the forum(s). At the bottom of each email that you can opt out of is a link to either Unsubscribe from this forum or Unsubscribe from all forums. Click the appropriate one and confirm, then you won't receive those messages any longer. You will be able to login and go to the area(s) to read the messages.

The second option, if you have no interest in a given topic, like Teens because you have young children, is to unenroll from that area. To do this, look in the Administration section on the lefthand side. Click the Unenroll me from link. Confirm your action and you will no longer get those messages or be able to read them online unless you enroll again in that area.

A third option is to choose digest in your profile. To access this, click on your name in the upper right corner. Click on the Edit profile tab. Click the Show Advanced button on the right. You should now see an Email digest type line. Press the arrow or click on the text and you should see a couple of digest options. Choose the one you want and you'll get fewer emails from the forums. Make sure you scroll to the bottom and choose Update profile for the change to be logged in the system.

Welcome to the forums for our group. Please join in the discussions.

Teach a little, learn a lot.
